# Readylab > Readylab is a private developer cloud for builders working with AI coding agents. It provides persistent, isolated development workspaces and independent application deployments on compute the user owns or controls. Readylab is free to self-host and offered as an open alpha. It supports x86_64 (AMD64) and ARM64 (AArch64) machines running Ubuntu- and Debian-based Linux distributions. macOS and Windows support is coming soon. ## Product model - Project: the durable container for a piece of work, its optional Git source, workspaces, deployments and managed services. - Source: an optional repository on any compatible Git host. A project can also start with an empty workspace. - Workspace: a persistent, isolated virtual development machine with its own files and tools. Humans and coding agents connect using SSH or VS Code Remote. - Deployment: a separate application runtime. Stopping a development workspace does not stop its app deployment. Coding agents can work in persistent sessions while the user's computer is disconnected from a remote installation. Stopping a workspace stops its processes but preserves its files. The machine hosting Readylab must remain powered on for workspaces and deployments to run. Isolation does not make arbitrary agent commands harmless; credentials and access still need deliberate configuration. ## Install and use Install on the Linux machine where workspaces and apps will run: ```sh curl -fsSL https://get.readylab.dev | sh ``` Run Readylab locally on a Linux computer, or self-host it on a remote Linux machine and connect from another computer. Linux installations require hardware virtualization with KVM. A hosted virtual machine needs nested virtualization. ## Product pages - [Readylab](https://readylab.dev/): Product overview, agent isolation and independent app lifecycle. - [Downloads](https://readylab.dev/downloads): Linux x86_64 and ARM64 downloads, terminal installer and upcoming platforms. - [Documentation](https://readylab.dev/docs/): Guide index. ## Guides - [Get started](https://readylab.dev/docs/getting-started): Requirements, local installation, remote self-hosting and the first project. - [Core concepts](https://readylab.dev/docs/concepts): Projects, Git sources, workspaces, deployments and services. - [Connect to a workspace](https://readylab.dev/docs/workspaces): SSH, VS Code Remote, public keys, readiness and persistent files. - [Deploy an app](https://readylab.dev/docs/deployments): Git revisions, application builds, logs, runtime lifecycle and data. - [Work with agents](https://readylab.dev/docs/agents): Isolated agent environments, persistent terminal sessions and MCP. - [Troubleshooting](https://readylab.dev/docs/troubleshooting): Installation, virtualization, connection and deployment diagnostics.
